FaveNet

A Firefox extension for working with your bookmarks

Mozilla Firefox is a well known browser which can be extended using various add-ons. FaveNet is just such an extension.

i2Brain shows you your bookmarks in a new way, allowing you to break out of the restrictions of the standard flat tree.

You probably already use i2Brain's ability to store hyperlinks.

Calling FaveNet while you are in Firefox automatically adds an item to an i2Brain project - the element is a link to the current website.

So you have added a bookmark - to your i2Brain project.

So it's very easy to make a note of important websites while you are surfing.

Use:

First of all, the add-on has to be added to Firefox. Read here how to do that.

After the installation, Firefox should have the new button in its toolbar.

Try it out: point Firefox at any webpage (perhaps this one) then click the FaveNet button. i2Brain starts up (if it wasn't already running). And the wizard appears.

Start the i2Brain project to which you want to add this new bookmark.

The project opens and a new item is added - your new bookmark.

Finished!

The name of the new item (in this example "i2Brain: Home") was the title of the web page.

The address of the website is automatically placed in the "URL" aspect. (I.e. the aspect where "calls external program" is active.)

Options

Some users collect all their bookmarks in one particular project. The project "favenet.i2b" was predefined for this situation.

Other users want to keep their bookmarks in different projects.

Use "File | Options..." to define your favourite way of doing things:

If you activate the first of the two options, the wizard isn't opened. favenet.i2b opens immediately and the item is added to it.

Importing Firefox bookmarks
